Holistic psychotherapy

With over 15 years experience of providing psychotherapy, my practice blends together evidence-based treatments to support you. I use an eclectic, holistic therapy style. ​My goal is to support you in having a greater sense of connection with yourself and within life. I value creating a space where you feel safe and respected. 

Therapy sessions

At the start of our therapy journey together, goals are created around why you have sought out therapy at this time. These goals are weaved throughout the sessions as you gain increased understanding for what supports and sustains you. Through a foundation of mindfulness and centering, thought and behavior patterns are explored to understand them and realign if more effective ways are needed in how you address yourself, relationships, and life.

Sessions often include practicing being in the moment, and pressing the 'pause button' so you can decide how you want to proceed when an emotion or thought comes up, instead of becoming overwhelmed and feeling out of control. My goal is to support you in feeling better, and to feel effective at what you want to achieve; be it to reflect on how you are managing life, decrease negative thought patterns, have quality connections with others, or address trauma you have experienced.

Office-Based

The office is structured to create a sense of warmth and comfort. Office based sessions provide an opportunity for a predictable environment where you can explore what would be most supportive for you for that session,  

Each session is unique to address your current focus, within the greater context of goals. Therapeutic styles include but are not limited to: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Indoor Adventure Therapy.

Outdoor Nature-Based

Being outdoors in nature provides an opportunity for a deeper level of therapy to occur for many individuals.  Finding connections within ourselves and nature has many profound healing qualities.

Nature-based therapy provides an opportunity for growth through the use of our natural world. Sessions provide an opportunity to let go of perceived notions and route thinking patterns. Sometimes a session may consist of walking and talking, use of guided therapeutic activities, and time for introspection and self-reflection. I bring the same evidence-based clinical skills that are used in the office on local hiking trails and nature areas.
